Worship stations

Jesus Meal
Acts 2:42
They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer.

Christ followers are called to remember the love of God and Jesus’ suffering and death on the cross whenever we meet. The bread symbolizes the body of Christ, broken for us. The wine/juice symbolizes the covenant made between God and us. It reminds us of our allegiance is to Jesus and Jesus alone. As you prepare to approach the station, you are to come with the following attitude:

  • Self-Examination – 1 Corinthians 11:27
  • Confessing My Sins – 1 John 1:9
  • Recommitment – Romans 12:1
  • Restoring Relationships – Matthew 5:23-24

Jesus is the Light
Matthew 5:14-16
“You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.”

Christ followers are the light of the world. But at times, we are snuffed out by the worries and temptations of the world. We come to this station to ask for Jesus’ light to shine upon us again. Light a small candle by getting the fire from the Christ candle to symbolize our desire to be lit up by the light of Jesus.

You can also light a candle for the person for whom you are praying. This symbolizes a petition for Jesus to shine on the person as well.

Prayer
Philippians 3:6-7
Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
1 Timothy 1:1-2
I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for everyone— for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness.

Spend sometime to write a prayer to God or put in a prayer request so that the pastor and other Christ followers can pray for you.

Tithes & Offering
Malachi 3:10
Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this,” says the LORD Almighty, “and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it.
2 Corinthians 9:7-8
Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work.

Giving generously and willingly is the lifestyle of a Christ follower. Trusting God with our finance is an important way to demonstrate to God that we truly trust Him with all aspects of our lives. “Wherever your treasure is, there your thoughts and hearts will also be”- Luke 12:34.

Burning
Matthew 11:28-30
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”

Write your burdens on a piece of paper and crumble it into the waste basket or place a pebble into the bowl of water to
symbolize that you want to let go your burdens. You want God to be in command of your life and not yourself.

(Note: not all stations will be available at all times.)
